Lots of historical exhibits where the main focus is Ontario, but there is often overlap with Toronto.
City of Toronto Archives
This is a good on-line resource for exploring Toronto's past. Official too! No gimmicks.
Fort York
Brief description of attraction and history. Includes hours of operation, how to get there and admission. Admission is reasonable better than a lot of Toronto attractions. No gouging here!
